Chestnut Farm Christmas Card Sale
South Ockendon
This was our third visit to this venue, our first on a Sunday. The number of people out and about was heavily influenced by the lingering morning mist which hung around till well after mid day. The upside was we were able to take advantage of a nice Sunday roast in the country garden cafe.

Orsett Show
The branch attended the Orsett Show which is the largest event in our calendar.
The weather was fine and warm and due to a change in our location we were not troubled as much by the prevailing winds as in previous years.
Despite the beer tent being closed due to an incident the night before everbody seemed to be enjoying themselves, and we met lots of our local supporters both old and new.

Worlds End
The branch took their souvenir stall to the World End pub in Tilbury in support of a third party fundraising event. The highlight of the evening being a sponsored body waxing. Our admiration goes to Mr Tony Barnicoat for enduring what at times looked a most excruciating ordeal.

Coffee Morning
Once again we braved the elements to try and make this event a success. This was a new venue for us this year and we must say a big Thank You to our hosts Albert and Sandra Babbs, (Hope the carpet is ok!!), to Jason for coming off nightshift and foregoing a warm bed for a few hours.
We must then extend this thank you to all the intrepid souls who wielded their brollies in true British fashion and spent so generously.
This event will have raised in excess of £730 towards the work of the RNLI.

Thurrock Yacht Club Open Day
Members of the branch dropped in on Thurrock yacht club to find most of its members afloat enjoying some summer racing.
The crew of Gravesend lifeboat came alongside for a chat which could have proved fortuitous as a well laden club tender's engine failed fifty feet from the lifeboat.
They could row ashore from there, I hear you say, unfortunately the oars were not in the boat!!!
